Griffith University’s Academic Bootcamps are highly effective, intensive four-day courses run in the September school holidays, designed to help you prepare for your Mathematics Methods external exams.

This course is to help you prepare by becoming familiar with what to expect on the upcoming external exams, and to practice, practice, practice. Maths is a Technological skill set, and the way we get better at Technological skills is by doing it.

Over the four days, you’ll revise and consolidate your understanding of the course content for Unit 3 and 4. Each session will be dedicated to one of these topics and you will complete a series of questions that have been seen on past papers and be shown how to approach these questions.

This course is designed as an interactive by Teams-based workshops and is delivered by highly experienced senior Mathematics Methods teachers.

    • Topic 5: Interval Estimates for Proportions
  • Practice External Exam Questions

Who are the course facilitators?

James Allen

James is a dedicated specialist mathematics educator committed to fostering academic excellence and a deep understanding of mathematical principles among students. With a solid background in mathematics and a passion for teaching, he strives to create an enriching learning environment where students can thrive. His approach combines rigorous instruction with innovative teaching methods to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong appreciation for mathematics. 

Outside the classroom, he is actively engaged in professional development, staying abreast of the latest pedagogical techniques and educational research to continually enhance the learning experience for his students.

Rodney Anderson

Rodney is passionate about using TI technology to collect and analyse data to enhance student understanding of STEM in the classroom.  Rodney shares his experience through attending and presenting at conferences around Australia and at T3 International conferences.His greatest achievement as a teacher is the collaboration and sharing of ideas and resources that result in the improvement of the teaching and learning practices, not just in his school, but through his involvement in a wide range of professional events to schools in the broader education community.  As teachers, we all learn from each other.
